    214515 - Basketball - Girls

    Girls House League Basketball - Grades 1st-4th
    Girls will have the opportunity to learn and improve their skills in this program. There will be on team practice per week and on game on Saturdays. Volunteer coaches lead our weekend youth basketball league games. Weekday practices are led by Glencoe Park District coaches. All children registered will receive equal playing time. Teams focus on fundamentals of basketball including shooting, passing, dribbling, and teamwork. All games and practices will take place at the Takiff Center.

    Registration received after October 25 at 5:00 PM will be assessed a $25 late fee.

    Registration will not be accepted after Friday, November 1 at 5:00 PM. Any late registration after November 1 will be placed on a wait list and, if possible, placed on a team after the team selection process is completed.

    Boys North Shore House League Basketball - Grades 5th-6th
    Boys will have the opportunity to learn and improve their basketball skills in this house league program that travels for games in Deerfield, Highland Park, and Lake Forest. All players will receive equal playing time and a team jersey. Volunteer coaches lead our weekday youth basketball league games and weekday practices are led by Glencoe Park District coaches. There will be a one-hour team practice during the week and a one-hour game on Saturdays. Saturday games will be played against team from Glencoe, Deerfield, Highland Park, and Lake Forest Park Districts and will require participants to travel to these communities to compete depending on the game schedule. An end of season tournament will be held at the end of February.

    Boys Travel Teams - Grades 4th, 5th, & 6th
    If you enjoy the competition of travel basketball and love the game, now is your chance to put your skills to test!

    Glencoe Park District and Hot Shot sports are working together to promote and support competitive basketball teams, enhance and improve players' skills, and foster a positive environment of sportsmanship and teamwork. These teams will allow players to play for their community while still being a part of a competitive league and tournaments.

    Tryouts are held prior to the season and team section is based on ability, attitude, and desire. Teams will practice twice per week. In addition to the team fee, players will pay a gear fee, which varies by grade and previous program enrollment. The season runs October through March. Once payment is received to reserve your spot on the team, no refunds will be issued. To reserve a tryout spot, participants must register at no cost through the Glencoe Park District.

    Boys Travel Tryouts - Grades 4th, 5th, & 6th
    Placement on a team is based strictly on the player's ability and performance during tryouts. Registration and payment are no accepted until teams are chosen. Players must attend both tryout dates to be eligible to make a team.

    All levels welcome! Whether you are a beginner or experienced potter, this Class gives you the freedom to create custom functional or sculptural pieces. Individual instruction allows students to learn the basics of ceramics as well as refine current skills. Wheel throwing, hand building, and surface design will be covered in this Class.
