Calling all artists! Ever wonder what it looks like bring your wooden canvas to life? Makerspace: Creative Technicians is a project designed for students to learn about the basics of design, art and programming. Students will use materials developed within the Makerspace to create a custom, interactive art project. Students will enhance their design with LEDs, sounds, ultrasonic sensors and motors. Throughout the build process, students use a proprietary programming environment to program their design and bring their electric canvas to life.
Due to COVID19, we will not be issuing refunds on class courses. Instead, a set of instructions and materials will be provided to students to complete the course from home in the event classes are canceled after the course has started in person. Students are required to bring their own iPad to class. All group and shared activities will be eliminated from this course and students will work individually and socially distanced. If a student needs an iPad this can be requested free of charge but quantity is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. If COVID restrictions change: classes will continue with instructions from teacher, no refund issued.
311451 - The Coder School
Code Class is our entry level program, only for newbie coders. In our introductory Code Class, our Coaches use Scratch or Snap! to teach kids using our project-based game development curriculum, in a traditional class-like environment. By learning through repetition, students will be able to learn the fundamentals of coding in a fun and engaging way. Throughout the session, every student will have the opportunity to present a chosen project if interested. Though reading is not required for this class, it will be helpful if your child is a beginner reader. No class: February 3.

Broadway Bound
Join us this winter/spring for a very special Broadway Bound where students will rehearse and perform ALADDIN JR! Since current restrictions prevent us from singing indoors, our vocal rehearsals and recordings will take place on Zoom for the first month and a half of class. All choreography and scene work will be rehearsed and recorded safely in-person, culminating in a professionally edited video production for friends and family to enjoy! Don’t miss this opportunity to work collaboratively and have fun in a safe, interactive and creative setting!

-Students will be placed in groups of 10 or less
-Masks will be worn for all rehearsals

314450 - Preseason Clinics
The Glencoe Park District is hosting basketball clinics this winter to help you improve your skills with Hot Shots Sports! Our clinics will focus on the fundamental building blocks of basketball (dribbling, shooting, passing) but will also improve athletic skills (footwork, hand-eye coordination) and team building aspects (communication, teamwork). Clinics will also consist of scrimmages at the end of each class in which the coach will divide up teams evenly, and players will be able to test out their new skills against each other! The house league basketball clinics will be offered for grades 1-8, both boys and girls. Classes will be restricted to a maximum amount of 10 participants per class.
